The U.S. Men’s Basketball Team officially announced that Heat coach Spoelstra has been officially appointed as the head coach of the U.S. Men’s Basketball Team.

This appointment was selected by Grant Hill, general manager of the U.S. Men's Basketball National Team. Talking about this appointment, Hill said: "I have known Eric Spoelstra for nearly two decades. During his time coaching the U.S. Men's Basketball Team, I got to know him more deeply. Spoelstra is not only an excellent coach, but also an excellent colleague, friend and father. All of these make him the best candidate to continue the coaching legend of the U.S. Men's Basketball National Team. His coaching will continue until 2028."
