Former NBA player and SiriusXM NBA radio host Eddie Johnson talked about the signing.
He said: "I mean, Finney Smith can defend. But like I said, I'm not that crazy about him, but I understand why the Rockets want to replace Dillon Brooks. I think that's all their intention - to get a defender back and make up for the loss of Dillon Brooks. Dillon averages 14 points and 40% from three-pointers, so the Rockets are expecting Finney Smith to do better. But that remains to be seen."
"In my opinion, Finney Smith has been going downhill for the past few years and has played particularly hard last year. So I'm really trying to see how he's going to play next."
