According to ESPN reporter Kevin Pelton, the layoffs are the largest extended layoff in NBA history. The $112.6 million contract renewal that Lillard will be valid from today will be shared for the next five seasons until the end of the 2029-30 season. The Bucks will pay Lillard about $22.5 million each year.

In the 2024-25 season, Lillard played 58 regular season games, averaging 36.1 minutes per game, scoring 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.2 steals.
