Shams reported that defender "TV" JR Dennis Smith Jr. (DSJ, Chinese fans call him TV) agreed to sign with the Mavericks for one year.

The Mavericks chose Smith at the ninth pick in the 2017 draft, and he will compete for a team place in this year's training camp.

Last season, Smith did not compete in the NBA, but played for Real Madrid.
