Recently, Bucks star Antetokounmpo was a guest on "The 2Night Show" and talked about his love story with his wife Maria.

The two met in Las Vegas, when Maria was working in the NBA. Her sunny and cheerful personality reminded Antetokounmpo of his mother, and he fell in love with her instantly.

Antetokounmpo said about this: "I was very shy at the time and asked my friends to help send a message to her, but she rejected me in 2015."

Antetokounmpo smiled as he recalled the initial setback, but persistence paid off. By 2016, their friendship had been sublimated into love.

He said: "My parents liked her very much. If my mother had objected, I might have turned her away. Maria is the love of my life. Without her, I would not be where I am today."
