The posts & comments all night would have you think Wemby played awful and was putting up a dud.
The reality? Spurs win with Wemby racking up 27 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists & 5 blocks lmao.
Fans:
The fans blasted my Chinese language class,
seems to be weak again today.
Looking closely at the data column,
27+18+6+5 caps?

Since Wemby joined the league:
Lose Big (2023-2024)

Spurs fans:
Wenban Yama's growth progress bar:
Big loss (2023-24 season)
Stabilize (2024-25 season)
Secure victory-now
Spurs championship? ? ? ? ?

This was the worst ive seen Wemby look this year...
And he finishes with 27/18/6 with 5 blocks.
Dude is like an alien or cyborg or something.
Nuggets fans: This is the worst game that Bunyama has played this season. Looking at the data column, it shows 27+18+6+5 blocks. Can you bear this?
Does this look like an alien? robot? Not like a human being anyway!

They 're going 82-0 aren 't they.
Rockets fans: This is the pace for an 82-game winning streak.
[–]Spurssuperrealaccount2 109 points 7 hours ago
98-0, actually.
Spurs fans: 98 consecutive wins, thank you.

He’s him
Fans: Duncan is known as Xiao Wenban.

But in the 4th quarter his defense was crazy
Hornets fans: His defense in the final quarter was simply a dragnet!

Great game Spurs are legit. Bam attempting 13 threes is fucking insane lol
Heat fans: The Spurs won beautifully, but Reba shot 13 times from outside the three-point line, which is a bit too indulgent, hahahaha.

He turned it on. But he was inefficient on offense pretty much the whole game and was absolutely not looking great defensively either. They were attacking him down low, successfully, a lot tonight.
But once it became time to take over, he did.
Nuggets fans:
He was fully committed, but the entire offense was average and the defense was just like that.
They successfully consumed him in the interior throughout the game.
But as soon as the time comes, he takes over the game. He is so strong.

Only reason the cosmos gave Vic a deep vein throm🅱️osis is because CP3 isn’t allowed to win a ring
Supersonics fans: Wenban Yama suffered from deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder last season because the God of Basketball didn’t want Chris Paul to win the championship.

Spurs defense stepped it up when it mattered
Spurs fans: At the critical moment, the Spurs defense was so tough.

League best defensive rating through 5 games!
After years of ugly turnstile defense and letting no names torch us all over the court, I live for how consistently disciplined, locked in, and aggressive everyone appears to be on the defensive end. Some of that turnaround is due to some personnel upgrades, but I gotta give Mitch a lot of credit here too.
Spurs fans: The Spurs have the highest defensive efficiency in the past 5 games!
In the past few years, we have defended thousands of people, and even one person can abuse us. Now we are highly disciplined, focused, and defensively tough. This is due to the improvement of our personal quality, but I also want to give a big credit to head coach Mickey Johnson.

Castle was the MVP of this game
Lakers fans: Stephen Castle is the MVP of this game

The defense the Spurs played those final 4 minutes was astonishing. Wow wow wow. We have an outside shot of making the WCF.
Spurs fans: The Spurs' defense in the last 4 minutes was impregnable and they are expected to advance to the Western Conference Finals!
[–]Spurswryano 80 points 8 hours ago
the difference in our team defense this season versus last season is absolute insanity
This Spurs team is a LOT of fun right now.

on 40 mins!!!
Dude was not allowed to sit today and he was going through it conditioning wise
Spurs fans: played for 40 minutes! ! !
The coach didn't let him sit at all, and he got through it perfectly.

If wemby played 1 less minute heat would have won
Heat fans: If wemby played 1 less minute heat, we would have won.

Kinda insane the Spurs never went 5-0 or better with how good they 've been historically.
Consistency rather than a great start I guess.
Bulls fans: The Spurs dynasty never went 5-0 in a row?
It seems that stability is much more important than a good start.
[–]Spursrawsharks 800 points 8 hours ago*
Every single Tim Duncan year the Spurs were either a 50+ win team or on pace for it during lockout years. Maybe it was just like one of those machines that’s slow to start but can run forever after.
Maybe they are like classic cars, slow to warm up but reliable and stable.

Or spurs getting hard matchups as season openers. Probably played prime Lakers more than a couple times in their first 5 games.
[–]SpursBananaRepublic_BR 2972 points 8 hours ago
This is just two seasons removed from a 18-game losing streak. So beautiful.
Spurs fans: We still lost 18 games in a row in the first two seasons. The ups and downs of life are so exciting sometimes.
[–]Spurswidelyruled 660 points 8 hours ago
If this becomes an 18 game winning streak I 'll do whatever the next comment reply says*.
Anyway, you won’t pay taxes for bragging, hehe!
[–]Spurswidelyruled 1362 points 8 hours ago
Still think it's crazy we've never started 5-0, and I don't want to get carried away, but I fucking love being good again.
[–]Nuggetsrunevault 473 points 8 hours ago
That was my first thought. Shocked the Spurs never started 5-0 with Duncan when the team regularly won a shit load of games.
[–]RocketsthatRocketsDude 138 points 8 hours ago
I thought we had one more season man
Rockets fans: I have to wait for one more season to become popular.

[–]Thunderno_nao 99 points 8 hours ago
I’m just glad we got the chip last season. Wemby has arrived.
[–]WarriorsJec1027 50 points 8 hours ago
Thunder are 6-0 again this is crazy ngl
Warriors fans: You Thunder have also won 6 games in a row. You are so bright for a while, hahahaha!
[–]SpursTimDunkinDonut[S] 528 points 8 hours ago
Don 't even have Fox and Sochan lol (and Kornet for 3 games)
Spurs fans: We haven't got De'Aaron Fox and Jeremy Sochan yet, and Kornet has only played 3 games.
