Dortmund CEO Watzke recently accepted an interview with Sky Sports Germany. In it, he talked about whether the German national team wants to return to the world's number one and the luck of team coach Kovac to Dortmund. He also expressed his admiration for Bayern this season.

- On whether the German team wants to get back to the top of the world:

Watzke: "You have to always be cautious in this regard. In football, you don't achieve it by loudly declaring that you want to get back to the top of the world, you have to really work for it. But we will at least see that we are getting closer step by step there."

- On Dortmund coach Niko Kovac:

Watzke: "Nico is a blessing for us. He does a very, very good job, is very calm and collected, and we have an exceptionally good relationship between the two of us - which is really good. But he has to keep proving himself again every three days, preferably on Saturday in Hamburg."

- On Bayern and their Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain:

Watzke: "It was a mixture of admiration and excitement. The first half was one of the best games I've seen in recent years. Of course, you can also take yourself out of the game with one action. It got a bit close at the end. Winning in Paris - we did it two years ago with Dortmund. But to win like this, so convincing, especially It was a statement like this first half - it was Bayern Munich's top performance. "When a club like Bayern Munich represents the Bundesliga so well, we should be happy on the international stage. It would be nice if we could create more suspense at the domestic level, but with the way they are doing now, it is difficult to do that."

- On Dortmund's DFB-Pokal draw (will play Leverkusen at home):

Watzke: "We've had disastrous draws over the years, so I'm not expecting anything else. At least it's a home game this time. I think we haven't played at home in three years, and this time we at least have that. We're going all out and it's going to be a good game for sure."
