On July 28, 2025, Trail Blazers player Avdia accepted an exclusive interview with HoopsHype reporter Ynet, and talked about the "contradiction" with Lakers star James.

In April 2024, the Lakers challenged the Wizards away, and James turned to Avdia's head and upgraded from an offensive foul to a malicious foul.

Avdia said he was full of respect for the future Hall of Fame player when asked about it. "Many people think there is a conflict between me and him. In fact, I respect him very much. These (actions) are part of the game and the fun is also the place where the game is fun. I won't care too much about these things, and I hope he will be the same." Avdia said.
